On this Father’s Day, I am thankful for a husband who is an amazing father to our children. He is devoted to showing them what it means to have a relationship with Christ. He loves them unconditionally, and spends time with each one as often as he can. He has always been the kind of dad who is not just involved with the fun aspects of having kids, like playing games, fishing, and swimming together, but he has been involved in the everyday-life issues that come with raising a family, like changing diapers, helping with homework, and waking up in the middle of the night with sick ones. My heart overflows with thankfulness to God for giving me a husband who loves our six kids with all his heart, and even desires more treasures in his life if God chooses to bless us through adoption. Happy Father’s Day, Phil!
Happy Father’s Day to “the best little daddy in the whole wide world”. I’m thankful for the childhood memories I have to treasure of precious times spent with my dad. I miss him more than words can say. I wish we didn’t live on different continents! Even though he has often lived far away, he has been a wonderful grandpa to my kids. During the times we lived close by, he was always ready to babysit whenever I needed him to. Here is a picture of my dad holding me forty years ago, and the next picture is of him holding Kayla thirty-three years later.
I also wish my dad-in-law a Happy Father’s Day. A little over a year ago, the two youngest girls and I spent several months in Washington for Kayla’s surgery and rehab. I so appreciated his willingness to travel from Montana to spend that time being a help to us. Kayla still talks about how much she loved her daily walk with Grandpa to the bay to collect shells and sand dollars.
Happy Father’s Day!
